In an Independent Study with Len Mailloux, Communications senior Erica Moura developed the idea and completed the execution of this Remembrance Radio Broadcast on March 20, 2010, the seventh anniversary of the American and Coalition invasion of Iraq. The purpose of the 20-hour marathon programming was to commemorate the more than 6,330 American and Coalition soldiers who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan.  During this period of time, SCR hosts and volunteers read every name, age, rank, hometown, and date of death of the fallen soldiers. The program was not politically or morally motivated, instead it served as a time for the entire Simmons Community to pause in respect and reflection, and to honor those men and women who have lost their lives in these two wars.
