Resident Meal Plans
Resident students have a choice of six meal plans:
The meal plans are:
- 225 meals and 100 dining points per semester + 10 guest meals
- 185 meals and 150 dining points per semester + 10 guest meals
- 145 meals and 200 dining points per semester + 10 guest meals
A majority of students find that 225, 185, and 145 meal plans meet their needs. For those students who desire additional meals we now offer an option allowing a student to purchase additional meals at the beginning of the semester at a reduced rate.
These additional meal plans are:
- 250 Meals (225+25 additional meals); 100 Pts - Additional Charge: $127.50 ($5.10 a meal)
- 275 Meals (225+50 additional meals); 100 Pts - Additional Charge: $240.00 ($4.80 a meal)
- 290 Meals (225+65 additional meals); 100 Pts - Additional Charge: $292.50 ($4.80 a meal)
Meal Swipes: A meal may be used at the Fens Café. The amount allowed is between $2.00 and $4.00 during breakfast and between $4.00 and $6.00 during either the lunch or dinner meal period. Students may swipe up to 3 meals per day in the Fens Cafe. Guest meals are not accepted in The Fens Café.
All resident meal plans include ten guest meals per semester so students may treat their friends and visitors to a meal in Bartol Hall. Dining points may be used in lieu of cash at Bartol Late Night, the Fens Café, Common Grounds, and Meyers Cafe.
Dining points may also be used in Bartol Hall to purchase special items, such as a birthday cake for a roommate. Fenway Cash, Visa, and MasterCard are also accepted at Dining Services locations.
The meals expire from semester to semester, but the points carry over from the fall to spring semester and expire at the end of the academic year. Students may swipe up to six meals total per day. If a student runs out of dining points, they may add more money to their ID card in the form of the Simmons Choice Plan or Fenway Cash.
Fenway Cash may be used for dining, bookstore purchases, laundry, vending, public copy machines and the on campus Copy Center. (See Campus Card).
When a student withdraws from campus housing, all meals, guest meals, meal plan points expire as of the date of withdrawal with any resident meal plan.
Students will need to pick their own meal plan by going in to AARC and choosing the meal plan that they want. Once a student picks a plan, it instantly gives them that meal plan for the fall. However, if you pick a particular meal plan and want to change it, you may do so in the same screen in AARC through the first two weeks of the semester. Please note that if a student does not pick a meal plan, they will not automatically be assigned one. This means, if you do not pick a meal plan before you arrive on campus for the fall, you won't be able to eat on campus until you log into AARC and choose one!
If you decide to change your meal plan you may do so by going back into AARC and choosing another meal plan on or before September 18th. Please note that you may change your meal plan during the first two weeks of the fall semester only. Thereafter, you will have to wait until the spring semester to change your meal plan.
